Dr. George Hatzigeorgiou was born in Athens, Greece. 
In 2013 was elected as Associate Professor at Hellenic Open University - Engineering Project Management MSc and he has also served as Lecturer and Assistant Professor at Democritus University of Thrace (2006-2013). He worked 11 years as a professional, specializing in design of concrete and steel structures including the wind-turbines, large sport-halls, metro stations and low and high rise residential, office and industrial buildings. He is the author of an e-book on the Seismic Design of Structures and he has published about 115 technical papers in peer-reviewed journals, books and conference proceedings. His research experience includes 7 research projects funded by national and international, governmental on non, organizations on the wind-turbines design, underground structures design, behavior of anchors and rebars in plain and fiber reinforced concrete and seismic design of steel structures. He is a member of Greek Association of Civil Engineers and Technical Chamber of Greece.
